Limerick Youth Service

Limerick Youth Service (LYS) is a leading provider of youth work, education, training and employability opportunities for young people and is to the fore in providing quality youth led programmes.

LYS enhances the civic, educational, personal & social development of young people with programmes focusing on a broad range of topics from leaderships skills, animal welfare and web safety to creative arts, music, wellbeing and more.

Youth Work

LYS supports several diverse youth work projects including:

Comhairle na nÓg, detached youth work, Garda Youth Diversion Projects, youth cafés, targeted youth projects, Youth and Family Support, Youth Mental Health, international youth work, a Youth Information service and volunteer led youth clubs across Limerick City and County.

Connecting with young people and supporting them to reach their full potential

Education and Training

Education, employability and training remain key features of LYS with a variety of opportunities for young people including:

Ability Programme, Creative Digital Skills, Employability Skills, Early Childhood Care and Skills, Bike Project, Retail Sales Skills, Catering Course, Bakery Skills, the iScoil initiative and the Leaving Cert Applied programme.

The above projects and programmes primarily delivered at LYS’ dedicated youth spaces which are located across Limerick City and County. These include:

Rathkeale Youth Space, Abbey Court, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick
LYS HQ and Community Training Centre, 5 Lr. Glentworth St, Limerick
Northside Youth Space, Ballynanty, Limerick
The Factory Southside Youth Space, Galvone, Limerick
Nicholas St Youth Space, Nicholas St, Limerick
East Limerick Youth Project, ACM Centre, Castleconnell, Co. Limerick

In addition to the above our volunteer led youth clubs and groups are meet weekly at community halls and centres across the city and county.
